Background
AJ is a distinguished 3rd degree Jiu-Jitsu black belt with over 17 years of dedicated training. Born and raised in South Florida, AJ began his jiu-jitsu journey at the age of 15 under the mentorship of renowned ADCC gold medalist Pablo Popovitch. After showing an unparalleled understanding of Jiu-Jitsu, AJ progressed through the ranks fairly quick, winning No-Gi worlds as a brown belt, and getting his black belt shortly after.
Personal Growth
For many years after AJ lead the famed Pompano GF Team school which saw some of the best Jiu-Jitsu athletes come through, including Gilbert Burns & Mikey Musumeci.
Mentorship
Known for his pressure-passing style and mastery of the Omoplata, AJ has been instrumental in coaching and developing up-and-coming athletes in South Florida. As he continues to inspire and lead the next generation of practitioners, he focuses on making sure his students develop perfect mechanics and are unmatched in competitions.
